Wow! Thank you for the fantastic review! You brought a smile to all of our faces as our very first reviewer, and we hung this up on our message board!

We try to keep our ingredient supplies local and regional, so we get our bread from Allegro Hearth bakery in Squirrel Hill. No worries, it's no mass market bagged bread

We'll keep our eyes peeled for your tour of the Juice Box Cafe smoothies! Definitely let us know if you have any suggestions.

Hello Janelle!

You bet your mother prepared great lunchboxes for her kids! You girls weren't picky eaters, but you would rather take you lunch every day than buy from the school cafeteria. I mean come on, just how fascinating can a brown-bag lunch be? I've come to the realization that you justed wanted to be showered with attention!

Hi!
I just found your blog via twitter (@juiceboxcafe's stream) and I love it!
Although I'm not veg, I've been trying to cut down on my meat consumption and I've been curious about Juice Box Cafe since I heard about it (before it opened).
Good to know you liked it; I think I'll give it a try soon!

Great blog! I am a joyous vegan who just moved back to Pittsburgh from living overseas. There are a lot of new veggie-friendly restaurants since I left in 2008. Thanks for starting this blog, I can't wait to read more of your recommendations! :)

Not a stupid question at all. I have come across this sort of problem at all sorts of restaurants. After one awful vegetarian pizza (with sausage-- go figure) experience I have learned to always ask whether a dish is in fact vegetarian, as opposed to just "vegetable." Better safe than sorry!

[...] A taco only by name March 19, 2010 by janelleb When someone mentions tacos, unfortunately I always imagine the nacho cheese and sour cream laden beef-like creations featured in Taco Bell spots. I was assured by several Yo Rita’s fanatics that I would not be served a chalupa ala Taco Bell, and so I, hesitantly, agreed to try it with hopes of adding another Pittsburgh restaurant to my list of go-to Mexican options (along with Mad Mex).
